Canada Day 2020 will be very different for everyone this year. The same holds true for the Friends of Fort George, who usually host a big Canada Day Parade in Niagara-on-the-Lake. While they had to cancel the official festivities this year due to Covid-19, the Friends of Fort George thought of how they could get some of that patriotic, sweet Canada Day feeling to the people. “We are very excited to be partnering with Parks Canada, Maple Lifestyle and Willow Cakes and Pastries to bring the community as many aspects of Canada Day as we can”, says Amanda Gamble, Executive Director of the Friends of Fort George. The package contains six Canada Day Cupcakes that will be packaged with flags, pins, Canada Day tattoos, glow sticks, Parks Canada swag, balloons and more. It also includes one of Maple Lifestyle's delicious souvenir bottles of Maple Bourbon Syrup. “We are so proud to be a part of the Canada Day celebrations in Niagara-on-the-Lake”, says Maple Lifestyle owner Jean-Pierre Romain. “People are certainly disappointed that they cannot celebrate like in previous years, but the idea to bring some Canadiana to the people is literally super-sweet.” There are a limited number of packages available with a deadline of June 25th for orders. They can be ordered online through the Friends of Fort George gift shop at https://friendsoffortgeorge.square.site or by calling their store at 905-4686621. The cost is $35.00 per package with free delivery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and $40.00 with delivery outside of town. For more information or ordering a Canada Day package, kindly call the number above or visit their website.
