French Crêpes
This is one of the simplest and most versatile recipes I ever came across. Our family has been making this recipe for 25+ years. It’s sure to impress kids and adults – guaranteed, all the time!
INGREDIENTS
400 ml (1 3/4 cups) milk 4 eggs 200 g (1 ¼ cups) flour vegetable oil 1. Combine milk and eggs. Beat at high speed. Add flour and beat for at least 1 minute. 2. Heat a greased 6 inch skillet with sunflower or any other neutral tasting vegetable oil. The skillet has to be very hot and well greased. 3. Fill a soup ladle with batter. Lift skillet, pour in batter on one side, then turn skillet lightly to let batter run all over skillet until it is spread evenly. When you feel that one side has been cooked, flip crêpe over and finish cooking the other side. Serve with your favourite toppings and fillings. Here's a few: maple syrup, sliced strawberries, Nutella, sliced bananas, any flavor fruit jam, sweetened fresh peaches, or ham and cheese for the folks that love savoury foods. Endless ideas, endless fun! |

18 strips Double Smoked Bacon
¾ cup Ketchup 3 oz. Niagara Falls Craft Maple Whisky
3 oz. Maple Lifestyle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup
1 oz. Worcestershire Sauce
Directions
Slice onions into ¾ inch high slices. Pull apart to separate the rings. Taking one strip of bacon at a time loop the bacon from underneath and wrap just enough to get it around the full thickness of he ring. Drop the rest of the strip through the top and keep wrapping around the onion ring. Add the next strip etc. until completely wrapped tightly. Wrap all of the rings and then mix the liquid ingredients together. Depending on the ketchup you use, you may need to reduce the sauce to thicken it so that when you brush it onto the rings it holds and caramelizes. Place the rings onto parchment paper lined tray and preheat your oven to 350F. Place the tray on a high rack and cook for 20 minutes. Baste the rings and flip. Continue cooking until the rings are caramelized and firm to pick up. Allow to cool and serve.
